Behind the scenes of “Everyone Deserves a Home” community mural

"Everyone Deserves a Home” is a testament to the community of the Tenderloin and a promise of hope and security. We wanted to share some behind the 1AM scenes shots of this epic street art mural.   This mural, overlooking the recently revamped Boedekker Park, brings new life and vibrancy to the Tenderloin community. This project was made possible and in collaboration with DISH, Friends of Boeddeker Park, and the Community Challenge Grant Program by SF Beautiful.  For more info, contact Original Sketch

Oakland Athletics and Illuminaries Community Mural

One day, I received a text from Krupt of Illuminaries with a picture of this 100' x 100' foot brick wall with small writing that said "our next mural".   My first reaction was, "Top to bottom!?!?" I should have known that's exactly what he meant. The Illuminaries have been blessing Oakland with ginormous murals for the last few years, busting back on the scene with the Steph Curry/Mac Dre Dubs piece, the giant Steph Curry mural off 880 South Bound, to the Oakland Marriott homage to "All Things Oakland". I've known Krupt since [...]

The prints will be released online that morning at 10AM PST, including 10 hand-embellished prints within the edition of 50. Experiences are not taken to be individual entities, but [...]

Ratur & Sckaro’s New Downtown SF Murals

November is here, and we're sad to say farewell to Ratur and Sckaro! Although the brothers are heading back to France this week, "Tourist" is still on display until November 10th. Following the opening reception, Ratur and Sckaro (AKA Arthur and Oscar Maslard) transitioned from oil paint to spray paint--leaving downtown San Francisco with some of their stunningly surreal mural work. Check them out on 7th & Market, and 6th & Howard! For mural inquiries and catalog requests:

Back to School with Marshall Elementary

Fall is here! As students are settling into their classes all over San Francisco, the students at Marshall Elementary school are showing off their new mural on 15th street -- painted and designed by the 2nd through 5th graders. Made possible by funding and volunteers from Google and Deloitte, 1AM worked with Marshall Elementary and Mission Graduates to beautify Marshall Elementary School's north-facing wall, on the corner of 15th & Capp Street. The corner was previously a dull, beige color, that didn't have any visual indication of children or learning inside--sometimes creating [...]
