Menlo High Enjoys a First Amendment Workshop

First Amendment switches it up! Majority of our workshops are with companies and adults but this time we enjoyed our time with some high schoolers as they participate in one of our awesome workshops. Robbie our graffiti instructor started off the workshop with an introduction to street art as they learn about the history behind graffiti and street art and how it came to be so prominent, especially here in San Francisco. Adobe Visits 1AM

Adobe visited First Amendment Gallery this November and teamed up with our instructors to create an awesome mural on our 6th street mural wall. Our workshops start with some practice tagging where they create their own logo or name to tag and then they transition to trying it out with real paint markers on canvas. After they get comfortable with their tag they move to spray paint so they can get ready to create their very own mural in collaboration with instructors. Team outing at 1AMSF!

Google recently visited 1AM SF for a unique team building experience. Our gallery offers graffiti workshops for companies that seek team outings in the San Francisco area. It’s a great way for employees and their employers to bond through a creative outlet. Our instructors give a brief presentation about the history of graffiti before diving into the basics of spray painting. Vitamin Talent Joins 1AM for a Team Building Workshop

Vitamin Talent came in and enjoyed their corporate team building activity with our instructor who taught the company how to spray paint. They chose to paint on a canvas so they can take their new mural back to the office! In our graffiti workshops the group comes together to chose a word or phrase that they then tag on a wall or canvas to create their very own piece unique mural. ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: ADELE RENAULT

First Amendment Gallery is excited to have Adele Renault as the artist spotlight this week. Adele grew up in the Belgian Ardennes and graduated from the Academie Royale des Beaux Arts in Brussels with a degree in Graphic Design. In her youth, Adele traveled around the world alone- living in Venezuela and England. Adele collaborates with her husband and artist Niels ‘Shoe’ Muelman. They now live in Amsterdam where they practice in a shared studio. She practices a variety of visual arts from oil painting to spray can graffiti. Her works [...]
