Pecha Kucha is a presentation format where speakers show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. Estria has chosen the controversial topic of “Graffiti versus Street Art”. The presenters include Estria, 1:AM Gallery, 808 Urban, Trust Your Struggle, Nicole Martinez and more! The event is hosted by Weyland Southon of Hard Knock Radio and Jason Mateo. DJ Sake One will be also on hand spinning the wheels of steel.
$10 donation at the door includes 2 drink tickets

ESTRIA INVITATIONAL GRAFFITI BATTLE @ deFremery Park (1651 Adeline Street, Oakland, CA) – Who will reign king or queen this year?
20 of California’s most talented graffiti artists will compete in a live painting battle. The contestants are Vogue TDK, the 2009 defending champion, Katch, Vyal One, Exra, Kier, King 157, Dime, Siloette, Prime 808, Lango, Wand, Jher… and more! Always admired their work on the street? Now is your chance to see them in action up close and personal.
The winner will be chosen by an esteemed panel of judges that include: Per One FX, Nate1 MPC, Crayone TWS, and Estria TOP.

1:AM Gallery is part of “2 Blocks of Art” organized by Urban Solutions
In conjunction with the Central Market Arts Festival (September 24 – October 17, 2010), the “2 Blocks of Art” art walk will take place on Friday, October 8th from 4-8 pm. Fifteen local artists will exhibit in galleries, public spaces, and businesses along Sixth Street between Market and Howard. Restaurants, bars, and nightclubs along the way are offering discounted food and drink specials during the event.
