EIGB – RUBEN AGUIRRE

Ruben Aguirre Jr. was visiting from Chicago this past week and he passed by 1:AM gallery yesterday.  Since they were just visitors to the Bay, I asked him and his friend what they thought.  They said that the weather here was crazy and that they loved Oakland because it was warm.  That of course was [...]

EIGB – CERN

Cern shows aerosol art at its finest.  The pieces he entered into “Don’t Sweat the Technique: Ode to the Spraycan” are all done with spray paint which surprised some.  I overheard a customer say his proportions were incredible especially since it was done with a spray can.  Don’t take their word for it, come by [...]

A lil bit o’ ESTRIA

I thought it was only fitting that we posted something about Estria, especially since he is the man of the exhibit for “Don’t Sweat Technique: Ode to Spraycan” as well as doing an excellent job on keeping us informed about the artists he assembled for the show and the battle (check out his blog to [...]

EIGB Artist – CHEZ

By adding oil paintings (on wood, not canvas) to “Don’t Sweat the Technique: Ode to the Spraycan”, Chez has elevated the respect for  graffiti writers.  Oil paintings are difficult to master but he definitely proved to be boss in this medium.  His portraits are detailed and realistic, a must-see for graffiti admirers and art lovers [...]

EIGB Artist: VYAL ONE

There is a story behind Vyal One’s shovel.  When Mike Bam brought in Vyal’s art piece, I was amazed by his illustration but surprised that he chose a shovel as his canvas.  Definitely different from the others that were on canvas or wood… saw how the illustration fit “Don’t Sweat the Technique: Ode to the [...]
