1:AM gallery presented Wizards, Lizards, and Broads: a 50-year retrospective of Mark and Vaughn Bodes art.  Wizards, Lizards, and Broads showcased the characters that have been greatly influencing street art all over the world for the past three decades.  Featuring original art by Mark Bode and works by Vaughn Bode, which had never been viewed publicly.

Mark Bode’s Thoughts on the Wizards, Lizards, and Broads Exhibition:
Since this is the first ever Bode solo show in San Francisco, we decided not to hold back and are pulling out originals by my father Vaughn from the archives as well as some of my most favorite art pieces I’ve created over the past 32 years. We will be displaying original comic pages from Cobalt 60 (which will soon be a major motion picture by Universal), spray can paintings and original Vaughn sketches depicting the iconic Bode characters that are respected around the world as the very beginnings of hip hop subway art imagery. This is a must see show as Vaughn’s original art is rarely exhibited.

I am looking forward to this show and being together in a definitive art show with my father’s dear brother Vincent, and paying homage to the art of, who is not only my beloved father, but also a heads up to my spiritual and artistic guide, Vaughn Bode.
