Camer1, aka Cameron Moberg, has the toughest and the most fulfilling job. He is the youth pastor at City Crossroads, a high-impact non-profit organization that serves as a community center for the multi-ethnic youth and low-income families in the South of Market neighborhood. Here is a blurb from their website:
“Drug abuse, alcoholism, homelessness, over-crowded housing, gangs and crimes – are everyday problems in the South of Market area near the Tenderloin district in San Francisco. It’s also home to the city’s highest concentration of children – almost 4,000. Their role models? Pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers, alcoholics and gang bangers. Their alternative? City Crossroads.” – www.citycrossroads.org
City Crossroads is located 2 doors up on 6th Street from 1:AM gallery. Cameron and his family have created a safe environment for the youth to enrich their lives creatively and spiritually. Cameron even gives them free graffiti classes!
We couldn’t think of a better role model then Cameron. His laugh is genuine, his art is dope, and he radiates with positivity. You can view his latest art work at 1:AM gallery.
